Artist Code of Conduct!

 Artists are expected to conduct themselves honestly and professionally in all dealings with L’Art Cultures, collectors, clients, galleries, curators, interior designers, architects, exhibition organisers, media representatives and other artists.

Artists must:

• Provide accurate information about themselves and their artwork.
• Be truthful about the authorship, originality, medium, dimensions, date and history of an artwork.
• Disclose any material information that may affect the sale or representation of an artwork.
• Honour commitments relating to exhibitions, deliveries, commissions and agreed professional engagements.
• Communicate promptly and respectfully.
• Avoid making representations that could mislead collectors, clients or partners.

False or deliberately misleading information may result in suspension or termination of an artist's association with L’Art Cultures.

 Artists must ensure that all artworks submitted to L’Art Cultures are authentic and created by them, unless the work has been expressly identified as a collaborative or authorised work.

Artists are responsible for providing accurate:

• Artwork titles
• Medium and materials
• Dimensions
• Creation dates
• Edition numbers
• Certificates of authenticity
• Provenance information, where applicable
• Previous exhibition or publication history, where applicable

Artists must not knowingly submit counterfeit, plagiarised, falsely attributed or unlawfully reproduced works.

Where an artwork is part of a limited edition, the artist must accurately disclose the total edition size and the number of works already produced or sold.

•  Artists are responsible for ensuring that their submitted work does not knowingly infringe the copyright, trademark, moral rights or other intellectual property rights of another person or organisation.
• Artists should not present another artist's work, concept or imagery as their own.
• Where third-party imagery, photographs, references, commissioned elements, AI-generated material or other external content has materially contributed to a work, the artist should disclose this where relevant.
• Artists remain responsible for obtaining any permissions or licences required for material incorporated into their artwork.

 L’Art Cultures recognises that technology and artificial intelligence are increasingly becoming part of contemporary artistic practice.

Artists using AI or other digital tools must represent their work honestly.

Where AI has materially contributed to the creation of an artwork, L’Art Cultures may request disclosure of:

• The nature of AI involvement
• The artist's creative contribution
• The tools or processes used
• Whether third-party material was incorporated

AI-assisted work must not knowingly reproduce another artist's protected work or identity in a manner that infringes applicable rights.

L’Art Cultures reserves the right to request additional information where the provenance or authorship of an artwork requires clarification.

 Artists are responsible for ensuring that artworks supplied for exhibition or sale are in appropriate condition.

Unless otherwise agreed, artworks should be:

• Properly finished
• Professionally presented
• Free from avoidable damage
• Suitably packed for transportation
• Ready for installation
• Accompanied by the required documentation

Any existing damage, restoration, structural issue or material limitation that could affect the artwork must be disclosed before delivery.

Artists should not knowingly submit artwork that is materially different from the artwork represented in promotional or sales material.

 Once an artist has confirmed participation in an exhibition, fair, project or programme, they are expected to honour the agreed commitment.

Artists must:

• Deliver artworks within agreed timelines.
• Provide accurate artwork information in advance.
• Follow packing and labelling instructions.
• Follow installation and exhibition requirements.
• Inform L’Art Cultures immediately if an unforeseen circumstance prevents fulfilment of a commitment.

Repeated failure to meet agreed deadlines without reasonable notice may affect future participation opportunities.

•  Artists must provide accurate and current pricing information.
• Artists should not intentionally provide conflicting prices for the same artwork to L’Art Cultures, collectors, galleries, designers or other professional parties without prior communication.
• If an artwork is subject to an agreed exhibition price, promotional price, commission arrangement or other commercial condition, the artist is expected to honour the applicable agreement.
• Any proposed price changes should be communicated before the artwork is marketed or offered for sale.
